Good job, you have finished the Surgical Suture Quiz. How did you do?

Just as there are thousands of instrument in the operating room, there are also hundreds if not thousands of sutures used in the operating room as well. So how does a person learn everything they need to know?

Well, the truth is, you will never know everything in the Operating Room. But this is the great thing about the OR, it is always changing and there is always something new and exciting to learn.

There are a couple of ways to make this learning process much easier though. Sutures are broken down into a few relatively simple characteristics. These properties such as whether a suture is absorbable or non-absortable or braided compared to non-braided help determine what situation a suture is apporpriate to be used for.
